Critical Thinking 15-3!

Which group pf immigrants do you think faced the greatest challenges in the United States?

When immigrating into the United States, many people faced much hardships and had to endure many challenges. The group of immigrates that suffered that greatest challenges were most likely Chinese immigrants.

Like many other groups of immigrates entering the United States, The Chinese often came over looking for work. The Nativest feared this. They saw these immigrates as below them and they did not want them coming into there country and talking jobs because they were willing to preform the jobs for lower wages.

This lead the Nativest groups to go to the government. Congress finely decide to put an end to Chinese immigration. In 1882 congress passed the Chinese Exclusion Act(p. 465). This act prevented a majority of Chinese immigrates from entering the united states. All of them were banned with the exception of students, teachers, merchants, tourist, and government officials. The immigrates that were poor and desperate for work though were not allowed in the country anymore and strict rules were set that insured that they would not be able to enter the country for many years.

Because of this strict act placed upon Chinese immigrates, they were not even allowed to enter the country. This was a major challenge for Chinese immigrates hoping to find work in America.
